Managing Consultant

“Why did you join Sagar Wright?”
After completing my Masters, my student debt had escalated to a point where money was a pretty important motivator - aside from paying it off, I also wanted a car and my own ‘swanky apartment’ as soon as possible! I didn't want a boring, plod-a-long job where I slogged it out for 45 years before retiring with a nice watch! I wanted challenge, excitement, development, progression, complex problem solving, and the opportunity to work with people of a like mind. When I saw the advert, I knew this job was exactly what I was looking for! 2.5 years after joining as a graduate trainee, I was promoted to managing consultant, looking after my own team.

“What’s the best aspect of working at Sagar Wright?”
The people. During your working life, you spend most of your time at work rather than at home, so for me it's important to get on with my colleagues. I don’t just get on with the guys here, they’re all my friends. There's always loads to do socially whether it’s a pint after work, a trip to the theatre, going to a gig, or a day at the races, there's no shortage of entertainment! Whilst it may sound like a cliché, the whole 'work hard play hard' culture is great, especially when the rewards you get for the work don't restrict how hard you can play!

“What’s your favourite part of the job?”
Easy - closing the deal! Knowing that I’ve used all my finely tuned skills to achieve success is immensely satisfying, and the fact that at times you know that very few fellow headhunters could have achieved the same result makes you extremely proud.

The variety of the work makes a real difference to me. Getting out of bed every morning (difficult as it may be with a Sagar Wright social life) and knowing that you will definitely learn something new and different is hugely important to me in a career. This is what keeps me highly motivated and loving my job.

“What skills have you developed at Sagar Wright?”
When I came on board I felt I knew a lot about Business, especially after doing a Masters in Business - I didn't! I have learned so much at Sagar Wright as a successful consultant and I'm now continuing that learning as a successful manager of my own team. I hope to make director within the next couple of years - essentially managing my own business within the security of a bigger business!

“What are you most proud of at Sagar Wright?”
Progressing quickly into management due to my success, achieving a clear path through to directorship, earning extremely well to pay for a fantastic standard of living, working with a great bunch of like minded and ambitious friends, assisting in growing the business, working side by side with winners (not 'also rans'), really pushing myself to get the most out of my career...the list goes on! It's difficult to pick one thing out that is better than others. Personally I am very ambitious - I am delighted that my effort and ambition can be realised at Sagar Wright. I want to go all the way in this company, right to the very top!
