Graduate Trainee Profile : Lindsay Hewitt

“Why did you join Sagar Wright?”
Upon finishing my degree, I researched a lot of careers. I was determined not to become ‘a typical graduate’ who spends their twenties trying to pay off their student debt, and their thirties attempting to get on the property ladder. I came to the sensible conclusion that for me to achieve my own house in my twenties, I needed a career that would allow me to take personal control of my earnings. My friends took jobs that rewarded them based upon the performance of their company, and/or their department. Unlike them, if I work harder and better than others in my company, I earn a lot more. This for me was the most attractive thing about Sagar Wright - my own house, car, zero debt with a nice (and growing) bank balance!
“What’s the best aspect of working at Sagar Wright?”
The best aspect of working for Sagar Wright for me is the constant challenges I face everyday - no day is ever the same! I’m learning and improving every day as I’m working with different people every day so I never have a boring day. As I get better and better, I increase my earnings. My motivation to succeed is just as great now, as it was on the day I started. Everybody here works really hard but also really enjoys themselves and I love the banter in the office.
“What’s your favourite part of the job?”
The working environment. Everyday I get to work alongside bright and ambitious people who I not only class as my colleagues but also my good friends. It is genuinely a positive and friendly working environment. It’s great to know that you have the support and encouragement of the people you work with, and perhaps more importantly a great group of people to socialise with outside the office. There are a lot of big drinkers at Sagar Wright!
“What skills have you developed at Sagar Wright?”
It would be impossible to list all the skills I have developed at Sagar Wright as there are too many. If I was to choose one in particular, I'd have to say my communication skills have developed to a high level. I'm now able to persuade and negotiate with senior people. The job requires you to communicate effectively with managers and directors of global companies which was daunting at first!
“What are you most proud of at Sagar Wright?”
Being able to call myself Sagar Wright’s ‘Top Trainee’ is easily my biggest achievement to date. I have outperformed all other Trainees in the company’s history! The satisfaction (not to mention the monetary rewards) of beating other top graduates was fantastic and gave me massive confidence. It reconfirmed to me that if you have the ambition, drive and hard work ethic then you will definitely reap the rewards. The difficulty I have now is what I spend my money on, Prada or D&G!
