“Why did you join Sagar Wright?”
When I left university I didn’t really know exactly what I wanted to do, but knew that I wanted to get a job that gave me
control over my progression and earnings. I wanted to be able to enjoy my twenties – to buy the sports car, get on the property
ladder in a nice area, treat myself to the holidays that I wanted – and not be limited to what my overdraft or credit cards
would give me. I also wanted challenge, excitement, development, support and progression, and to be able to become an expert in something.
When I saw the advert for Sagar Wright, I knew that this was exactly the job that I was looking for, and I haven’t been disappointed!
5 years on, I’ve worked hard to get myself into a position that most of my mates can’t reach for another 5 or 10 years, and I’m
doing well at work. I’ve been managing and growing a team for the last 2 years, and the next step for me is to become
Director, hopefully within a couple of years.
“What’s the best aspect of working at Sagar Wright?”
The banter. I’ve always been very sociable, and it’s important to me that I am surrounded by positive, energetic people that I
like and get on with. During your working life, you spend more time at work than at home, so for me it’s great to know that I
get on with my colleagues. Here, I don’t just get on with the guys; they’re all my friends. There’s always loads to do socially,
whether it’s a pint after work, a trip to the theatre, going to a gig, or enjoying a day at the races – there’s no shortage of
entertainment!
“What’s your favourite part of the job?”
Winning in business. Knowing that I have used the skills I have developed to successfully negotiate and close a deal is immensely satisfying, especially
when I know that very few fellow headhunters could have achieved the same success. I also love that my clients include some of the largest and most
respected firms in the financial services market, and that I have the potential to ‘do business’ with genuine global players. A lot of my
friends from university who have gone into the finance sector are jealous of the relationships that I have with their colleagues, bosses and their
bosses’ bosses!
“What skills have you developed at Sagar Wright?”
Probably the most noticeable skill that I have learned at Sagar Wright is the ability to think and act as a businessman. As a consultant
and now a manager, it is great to know that when my clients come to me asking for help, I am able to give them advice which will have a huge positive
impact on their business. Seeing consultants who I have personally trained being extremely successful is also a great ‘pat on the back’
for me, and something that I could never have done when I started with the firm.
“What are you most proud of at Sagar Wright?”
Progressing quickly into management with a clearly mapped path through to directorship, earning extremely well, working with a great bunch
of ambitious friends, assisting in growing the business, really pushing me to get the most out of my career...the list goes on! It's difficult to pick
one thing out that is better than others. I consider myself to be lucky to have found such a good job within a financially secure firm that matches my
own ambitions.
